It is a popular tourist destination due to its well-known Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. The Dambulla Cave Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The temple complex consists of five caves, each containing ancient statues and paintings of Buddha and various other gods and goddesses. The temple complex also includes a large golden Buddha statue and a museum that displays ancient artifacts and religious relics.
