Dehiwala is a suburb of Colombo situated between Ratmalana and Wellawatte along the Galle Road. It is linked to Colombo , Ratmalana/Moratuwa/Panadura , Maharagama and Nugegoda by road and to Colombo and Galle by Train. Dehiwala Railway Station is between Wellawatte and Ratmalana Railway Stations. Dehiwala is by the sea and is popular sea bathing . It is also very popular for fresh fish. Dehiwala is known best for it’s Zoo with a very large variety of animals The Dancing of Elephants performed daily in the evenings has become very popular both the locals as well the tourists.
