Banana fibre is 100% bio-degradable product and made by drying the strands taken out of the bark of the banana tree. Products made of banana fibre are environment friendly. The process of making fibre strings, which are used to make bags, is a very time consuming effort. Making bags / crafts using these strands too is a very time consuming effort and requires a huge amount of concentration and talent. This whole process is manual. However, the product is extremely strong. Eco friendly material have been used in the process of manufacturing these bags. All material used in making these bags are from Sri Lanka.
