CAN I USE LEEKS INSTEAD OF ONIONS IN SOUP?
Leeks, while similar in concept to scallions, aren`t as well-suited to being eaten raw, thanks to their more fibrous texture. But they can work well as an onion substitute when cooked. Winslow thinks of leeks as somewhere between a scallion and a bulb onion.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COOK A LEEK?
To cook: Leeks can be boiled, braised or steamed. Sliced leeks should be cooked for 5 to 7 minutes until tender but still firm. Whole small leeks should be cooked for 10-15 minutes until tender but still firm, top with a cheese sauce and then brown under a preheated grill for 5 minutes or until golden.
SHOULD LEEKS BE REFRIGERATED?
Leeks will last up to two weeks in the refrigerator if they are purchased fresh. Once cooked, leeks can be kept in the refrigerator and used within two days.

WHAT PART OF LEEKS DO YOU EAT?
Although they look like a larger form of a green onion, the edible part of the plant is actually the white and light green part sometimes referred to as the stalk or stem. The dark green part is also edible, but is quite bitter and is often discarded. They have a mild, onion-flavour and can be eaten raw or cooked.

Excellent service! This is the first time I ordered from Kapruka. I was used to order from Lassana flora Wishque. But this time they didnt have the service delivery to my place. Such a waste of time as it shows the error after checking out. First I had a very wrong impression that Kapruka items are too expensive. But I dont feel a big difference after placing my first order. No delays in the delivery and I can strongly recommend to anyone. Great job and keep it up. Much loved the choice given to customise fruit basket. Would suggest to improve the emails sending out the delivered email on time and also would love if the system can be improved making it more user friendly.
